Biology Department

The Department of Biology was established in 1965 to teach courses in Botany and Zoology to B.Sc. (Medical) programme. Presently, it has two spacious, well-equipped laboratories that provide the students with all the tools necessary for the course. There is a departmental library for students. Dept. has maintained a Botanical Garden with more than 70 different plant species alongwith many medicinal plants for academic study. Well qualified faculty dedicatedly tries its best to project Zoology and Botany subjects in a simple manner. Annually, department organizes field-trips for the students to make them aware of the flora and fauna. The faculty is capable of undertaking interdisciplinary courses and has been taking classes for Environmental science, Remedial biology in B. Pharm., different courses of B.Voc. etc. Each year, a number of graduates pursue their post-graduation in different subjects including life sciences from well-reputed institutions. The management, principal, and teachers strive to serve the students with the best of their knowledge and infrastructural facilities.
